The two tracks on this album were born from pieces originally composed for live performances centered on using a Eurorack modular setup. The original half hour performances were remade and retooled over time in the studio, resulting in these final 14-15 minute recordings. Additional software instruments were added as needed to flesh out the mix. Each piece is comprised of three or four distinct sections that could almost be separate songs, but I felt that maintaining their continuity as longer interconnected listening experiences was more true to their intended form as sound journeys. The original pieces were performed in Boston MA, Worcester MA, and Providence RI at various shows before arranging them for studio recording. Each one concludes with layered recordings from my Waves artwork series which are sound & light boxes that play continuous synthesized drones. I felt that their smoother ambient sound layers, composed as drones, offered suitable tone and vibe for concluding the previous sections that focus on more dynamic rhythmic and melodic sequences.
