Soft Power is the second studio album by electronica project Aether Chroma. Building upon the varied influences of 2011’s Supernalia by traversing aspects of electropop, ambient, and industrial genres, Soft Power explores new territory while continuing a commitment to layered synth textures, melodic sequencing, rhythm programming and hand-crafted sound design.
The album expresses a variety of moods and styles: some tracks conjure bucolic dreamscapes and pensive soundscapes while others are rhythmically infused with cybernetic adrenaline and energized retrofuturism. There are portions that expand cinematically while others invite focused introspection. Equally comfortable invoking crystalline vistas and neon pulsations, celestial stargates and metropolis skylines, Soft Power offers a dynamic and multi-faceted aesthetic experience.
